Tune of the Week: Minor Science – Volumes

Whities label boss, Nic Tasker definitely has a knack for selecting standout records and the latest instalment, Whities 012, fits effortlessly into the carefully curated output. The record sees Minor Science return to the label for the third time with a killer two track EP, Volumes/Another Moon.
Volumes has been selected as this week’s tune of the week. It is a bass-heavy experimental track with prominent synths that wouldn’t feel out of place in any club. Minor Science has utilised intelligent vocal interjections throughout the track that allude to an incoming change in dynamics, which get louder or softer on cue. This fresh approach keeps the listener guessing and engaged throughout. A frenetic breakdown in the latter half of the track certainly induces feelings of “jesus fuck” and makes you put your “house upside down whilst dancing” as indicated by commenters on YouTube, so expect to be hearing this one out a lot over the coming months and we personally can’t wait.
