One of the last tracks on Skee Mask’s Shred EP, Panorama is a wonderful breakbeat track which is both full of intense rhythmic manoeuvres and beautiful ambience.
The track begins with quietly with some off-beat percussion before the overarching ambient melody of the track begins – a simple yet constantly changing meandering synth which gives the whole track a ‘natural’ feel.The main underlying breakbeat then comes in, and Skee Mask does a brilliant job of balancing the varying intensities of the percussion with the gyrating textures of the synths.
Skee mask has done an incredible job with not only this track but the whole EP, and with Panorama he has managed to create a track that is both a ambient and chaotic at the same time.
