Tune of the Week: Sunstreet – Lovin'

I first heard this song in the middle of Tom of Brooklyn’s (formerly Tom of Finland) edition of the Deep&Disco / Razor-N-Tape Podcast, which if you haven’t heard of before be sure to check out. In what was already turning out to be one of the most influential mixes for me released that summer, the track list is littered with bouncy disco classics, each more difficult to ID than the last.
Tom of Brooklyn incorporates many of his own tunes in the mix under the Razor-N-Tape label, but Lovin’ by Sunstreet was my favourite track (although not by far). This golden oldie is dangerously catchy, I found that I managed to unconsciously brainwash almost anyone who came into contact with it, so be warned…
The grainy track is dominated by its vocals although incorporating so many instruments gives each verse variety, whilst ensuring the chorus packs enough punch to induce a smile each time. Particularly enjoy the breakdown around 3.45.
Check out the mix, check out the track and enjoy.
